Home » Rent a Boat in Cadaques
One of the best things I did while staying in Cadaques was rent a boat. We waited days for the wind to calm before we were allowed to take one out, and not knowing what to expect, thought at least it would look like a Florida style rental- medium sized, with a ladder to crawl up to the steering wheel. But, when the time came, we waded out through the waves and jumped into a small dingy...almost like a lifeboat. It had a small motor on the back that was also the steering unit and seated 4 of us comfortably. We headed out and followed the coast until we were so far out and on the opposite side of the mountains that we decided to pull over. While boating towards a small island close to land, I noticed a strange shape perched on a large rock in the sea at least a mile from land. As we came closer, we realized it was indeed a naked man who had swam out and was enjoying a breaather.
He jumped back in and swam to shore soon after I snapped some secret shots of him. We then headed into a secluded alley of rocks and deep blue water, tied up the liferaft and jmped into. It felt as if no one existed. The world was empty. No sounds but the water and our laughter. It was incredihble...and the water ofcourse, crystal clear. Ride back was a bit bumpy on the dingy as a storm picked up- but worth it even if we sunk the dingy and had to swim to shore.
