The Thalassa Foundation is promoting the creation of an interpretation centre for matters related with underwater archaeology, with headquarters in L’Estartit, in order to disseminate and research into the historical heritage to be found beneath the sea, the history of seafaring and the relationship between man and the sea. The Foundation will also promote the organisation of conferences, travelling exhibitions and educational activities for schools and specialist audiences.
The Torroella de Montgrí Town Hall is collaborating in the project and will provide the provisional home of the Museum in premises at Carrer Pou Nou, in the centre of L’Estartit.
