Museum Art-2000

This museum has the painting collection of the Vila Casas Private Foundation on exhibition. The building which houses the permanent exhibition is one of Torroella’s most notable civil buildings. We do not know precisely the year it was built in, but it belonged to various noble families before it was purchased by the first Marquis de Robert and Earl of Torroella, who fitted it out as a private house during the second half of the 19th century.
The ground floor gives onto a Renaissance courtyard, access to other rooms of the types found in lordly manors, such as the stable and cellar, today fitted out to house temporary exhibitions. The collection as a whole is on exhibition on the first and second floors of the manor.
