The Lake of Banyoles

The Lake of Banyoles is one of the largest in the Iberian Peninsula and one of the most important natural phenomena in southern Europe. This, along with the fact that it is set in idyllic countryside, has converted it into one of the main attractions of the region.

You can carry out all kinds of activities related to leisure and tourism there. It is so important that significant sporting events have been held at the lake. A clear example of this is the fact that the city of Banyoles was an Olympic centre for rowing during the 92 Barcelona Olympic Games and it will host the World Rowing Championships in 2004.
